Aland$$, as you may or may not know, is an up-and-coming Swedish producer and songwriter who is heavily influenced by Kanye West. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of his previous project, Shipwrecked EP, I really enjoyed his single “Dust”, and I have been hyped to see where he would go with his upcoming project, Cessation. This is the latest single off of the project.
Overall, this is among one of the better songs I have heard from the producer. The beat is a bit mellow for my taste, but is atmospheric and well-mixed. The beat switch-up was smooth, but the drum pattern was very syrupy and not pleasurable to me.
It comes as no surprise to me that the best aspects of this song are its creativity and lyrics. As I mentioned on his single review, Bowtye is an exceptional lyricist as well as a decent singer. I liked the concept of the song, one that described a shaky relationship. Once again, Bowtye did provide a repetive and lackluster melody though.
Overall, this is not a bad song by any means, but perhaps it isn’t just for me. However, I can see and appreciate the effort put into the track, and I have high hopes for the producer’s upcoming project. Both Aland$$ and Bowtye have talent, and this track proves it.
